Ok so here's the deal. Passenger side seat heater works beautifully, with either of the two switches. Both switches are receiving 12v power from the yellow wire in the harness (I tested this with a test light). Both switches click as they are supposed to.
I checked underneath the seats and all connections are secure, although I couldn't find the ground point on the chassis that Ari is talking about. I doubt that this would be the problem though, I feel like the heater element would go before the ground point...
The only thing that I noticed amiss is that on the passenger side seat, underneath the seat, there is a little spring attached to the bottom of the seat attached to a wire. I could see that this mechanism activates the seat heater when you sit down. On the driver's side, I did not see any sort of mechanism for this purpose. Is it located somewhere else, or is it a different mechanism? Or is it missing completely?
I'm out of ideas. I just want to make sure that everything else is fine before I go ripping off the seat cover and replacing the heat element.
By the way, is it difficult to replace the heat element? How is it attached to the seat? I read a post about being attached to the foam, but I'm not sure if this is the case.
If anyone has any ideas for me, I would appreciate it. I'd really like to get my seat warm again :)
