running car ? Booster pack, I assume it's battery operated, can run down with just a few starts, it's not unlimited juice. Accessories can run fine with a dying battery but the battery isn't strong enough to start a car and you hear this click from the starter.
Yes, your starter could be shot for whatever reason, but the simplest test is to get a boost from a running car battery. Do you have AAA ? Call them and have them give you a jump if you can't find anyone else.
