Does this mean that your starter is cranking the engine over (and over, and over, ...) but it will not fire up and run? If so, your starter is perfectly fine and the guy at Autozone is completly wrong - this would not be a first. If this is the case, you have some other type of problem. The fact that it starts when "cold" might be due to the increased amount of fuel that is programmed by the engine control system for cold starts, making it easier to start. When was the last time you had the sparkplugs and air filter replaced on this car?
