Part help needed Posted by Mike TX [Email] (#1409) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike TX) on Thu, 5 Feb 2009 14:43:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Last week I posted that I could smell fuel and it appeared to be coming from the fuel filler overflow line. I was able to get under the car and take a closer look. I think the real source is from a fitting that connects the return line, and the overflow tube to the tank. I've checked several web sites (europarts, thesaabsite) and do not see this piece and corresponding seals/o-rings etc. Can someone with a repair manual provide some insight into what goes into removing and replacing this piece- part number, how its connected to the tank, etc. Seeing a picture of the part will probably help me with determining how to remove the current one. Also, any help with where I can source the part is greatly appreciated.
Just so everyone does not think I'm driving around with fuel spilling out the back, I do not lose a large amount of fuel, but the odor is not good when driving on local roads (stop signs, lights, etc). I'm averaging 25-26mpg, verse normal closer to 30.
