It's not impossible (though it seems unusual) for the hose to come off the back of the gauge itself, and you can check that situation by taking out the ACC unit, locating the hose and very gently pulling to see if it's still attached. Should it not be it's a dash-top off job to reconnect.
The hose connection at the firewall inside the aquarium is a spigot, high up and easy to miss if you don't know where it is (like if the hose has fallen off so you can't follow it back). Mine did fall off a few months ago. I heard hissing inside the car when this happened.
I thought (can't check just now) there was a further double-ended spigot connection at the false firewall, rather than the hose just going through but I may have remembered that wrong. If your hose is just hanging down, suggest you just pull it up - sounds as though it's come loose.
I tend to use little cable ties to reinforce these connections. If replacing the hoses, you could do the one to the fuel pressure regulator as well.
Just because you find one leak doesn't mean there isn't another. Bill Homer's brass fitting is a definite maybe, but there are also connections on the back of the inlet manifold, including one that is normally capped off, and a leak here might cause your noise though a missing cap might not hurt your performance too much.
It's worth troubleshooting the problem soon as if your gauge isn't working I guess the operation of your turbo bypass valve will be compromised too.
