I'm not sure what process you're using, so I'll repeat the process here. Apologies if it's what you're using.
Look for the 3 pin connector. Pin 1 is the single pin that is by itself; pins 2 and 3 are parallel with each other.
Leave pin 1 ungrounded. Turn the key to ON. The CEL should be ON.
Ground pin 1 - wait until Check Oil Level and Check Radiator Level have gone out - the CEL will go out.
Watch the CEL carefully - about 2.5 seconds after it goes out, it will flash briefly, which means the first fault ocde has been activated.
UNGROUND PIN 1 IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE BRIEF LAMP FLASH.
The first of (up to) three lamp codes will start flashing.
Once you get to '93, it's all different.
You note it is a '92 - what engine? Turbo/non-turbo? 2.0, 2.3? Any symptoms with the CEL?
If you can't get the codes to read properly, it could be a problem with the fault memory in the LH module.
