Turo Bypass Valve Orientation- '90 B202 Posted by Kevin M [Email] (#1193) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Kevin M) on Sun, 11 Oct 2009 14:53:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi everyone,
Well, this is a theory question for all you theorists out there:
The EPC diagram shows the input to the Bypass valve axially to the vacuum line, so manifold pressure is pushing against the return spring- always trying to open the valve.
I think I saw on Quasi's site the valve was oriented so the manifold pressure was pushing on the back of the valve- which seems more correct.
I have had mine installed like the latter for some time now and it works, however every so often, when closing the throttle from about 3000 rpm the car will die. So, when I was in there today, I changed the valve around.
The valve is good-seals both ways and starts to open at 6.5" vac, full open at 11"
Any theories?
Kev
