The ride is firmer with the Aero springs and shocks (this is the Sport Chassis suspension kit) but it is not dramatically firmer than stock, or what you'd get with Konis or Bilsteins. There's still a lot of compliance. It's probably less firm than the Bilstein HD shocks. On sharp one-wheel bumps the bars do affect ride firmness, but it's just firm, not harsh. The bars have poly bushings and those do transmit more vibration.
The bars don't really contribute to the firmer ride. They substantially eliminate body roll. The car corners fairly flat, but more important, the tires are much more equally loaded, so steering and control are much better. On the skid pad at a driving school in July I was going around at the same speed as a BMW 540 and a C6 Corvette, with no drama at all and with all four tires sliding.
What you notice with the bars in particular is that the car is much more in touch with the road. You find there are corners you don't slow down as much for. On ramps are lots more fun. When I get into my wife's 9-5 or my #2 daughter's '99 9-3, I notice they ride softer, but in a corner I really notice the body roll.
For $385, the SAS bars are the best money you can spend on a 9K to make it handle better without making much in the way of compromises. I've done sway bars on cars before and they really do make a huge difference.
