think it's coincidence with the pump

My overheating happened last summer when I had a heater hose blow 4 or 5 times during a trip up to the Sierras. I replaced the heater hoses when I got home. After that the coolant temp was still going too high and I was losing coolant. I suspected a blown headgasket. Did the thermostat next and the temps were back to normal, but I was still losing coolant with no visible leak, though there was coolant down in the top of the engine mount. Concluded it was the water pump or o-rings. At this point I think the heater core was weakened by the overheating and that the coolant being drained was somehow a factor. Will pull the core this weekend.
Never was able to solve my ECU communication problems. I got the ABS computer to spit out codes, but can't clear them. I was able to clear the SRS code. Was not able to read the ACC code. Replaced the ABS ECU. Now none of the computers is talking anymore. Don't know why - might not be a coincidence that I could read codes with the passenger seat out of the car but not after I put it back in. It was out for a long time due to me being sold a mismatched set of seat covers. Got to get back to the ABS and ACC problems soon - very difficult problem when the ISAT can't get a response from any computer. Tech II would be friendlier to test with, I'm sure.
