Suspect it's a dealer-only part Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Sat, 24 Sep 2011 13:30:51 In Reply to: Re: Transmission cooler line leaking, sam96CS [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 24 Sep 2011 12:11:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It actually lost quite a bit of transmission fluid, apparently this thing had been leaking for some time while driving at road speed and only just now got bad enough to be noticed. Good thing it started spraying in the direction of the turbo! Since there were no symptoms from the transmission even with the fluid low I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's OK.
The bad line is the one that goes from the top side of the cooler to the back of the transmission. The metal tubing that is down by the bottom of the radiator near where the rubber hose starts is where the leak is.
There are a couple of Saab dealers in the area I can try for replacements (maybe do both hoses while I'm in there). If new ones are too outrageously priced or unavailable I'll have to try getting used ones that can be rebuilt with new rubber hose. Looks like the old C900 is back on daily driver duty for a little while...
