The same exact thing happened to my 1998 CSE yesterday, the metal part of the transmission line rusted through and was leaking bad. Apparently the replacement part is not available at any dealership in the US and through any online vendors. No 9000s in any of the local junkyards either, only 900s. The indie shop was able to fit a transmission line from a Honda (not sure which model)! Apparently it is the same length and configuration. I'm hoping the transmission was not damaged, seems to be ok so far.
All this gives me some concerns about future maintenance of our cars regardless of whether Saab survives as a company. The only hope is that 9000s have been produced for so many years, there might be parts available for shipping through junkyards for some time.
