As I recall you're way up north away from any Saab garage.
It all depends if your problem is just from someone disconnecting things with the battery still connected, which sets a code even if the connector is re-plugged, or if something, say in the "clockspring" on the steering column, got damaged. (Another possibility, which also sets an SRS code, is that somebody unplugged the SRS fuse, #4 - Airbag, before working, with the battery connected.)
If it's only a code set by things being unplugged, or a fuse pulled, maybe you know of an independent garage that fixes and deals with these a lot, somewhere, Bangor, maybe? Ralp Stetson, actually a Saab dealership, in Warren, comes to mind. The idea is, you could maybe get them to pull a code-free brain from one of their parts cars and mail it to you.
Your local garage would then only have to DISCONNECT THE BATTERY, then pry off the carpet panel on psgr side of console, with the little cubby on it, then on the hump up under that, towards the front, held by three 10mm-head nuts, sits the SRS brain. Unplug yours, which has a code set on it, plug in the clear brain, rebolt it, put the carpet panel back, and reconnect your battery. Importand also, Fuse 4, 5 amp, needs to be plugged in before battery is re-connected.
That brain, used, shouldn't be much money. There's absolutely no demand for them, so it's nothing they'd likely need. I think the right shop would understand your plight and maybe cooperate?
The steering wheel "clockspring" is a pretty expensive part if that's the problem, something you could also maybe buy used, long-distance, if needed.
Site sponsors that sell used parts are another option but this is small potatoes we're talking about.
Good luck.
By the way, pulling the bulb might work, but the garage that stickers it can't know about it, and I believe the Maine inspection rules call for checking for presence of all relevant warning lights at key on, and also for checking the car on a machine that shows a list of all codes set. State Police run the inspection program in Maine.
And pulling the dash that far apart is no fun, and calls for some finesse as well as knowing where all fasteners are hidden.
