Sitting in front of me, about3"x3 1/2"x1 5/8". Also says Saab, and SRS Unit. Made by Bosch in Germany. If you find one for sale, make sure it's guaranteed to be one without a code set on it.

The tool to reset these isn't very likely to come up on ebay or C-list, and if it did and you could buy it you'd need to get, with it, some instructions on how to use it. Or someone on here might provide the how-to.

Which is why I was steering you to maybe buying a known-error code-free brain, or ECU (Electronic Control Unit).

The important thing is to make sure whoever installs it disconnects the battery before install, and that they check that the unit's fuse, #4, is installed too before reconnecting the battery.

Note that I believe your airbags will probably operate fine if there's a crash. Per Page 11 of owner's manual, if there's a FAULT in the airbag system, the SRS light in the pictogram of the car will flash for 5 seconds after starting, then remain on. The error indication you'd get if there's only been a temporary interruption in the SRS connection is no flashing, just a solid SRS light after car is started.

The SRS is kind of like a tattle-tale little sister. If you knock the vase off the table, even if it doesn't break and you put it back, she ALWAYS tells on you to Mom and Dad.

Similarly, the SRS, if you ever disconnect it while the car has battery power, sets a telltale code that persists after reconnection and that a mechanic has to see and have the correct tool to re-set. It's not clear to me just why.
