This isn't the best automatic out there, but if you change the fluid and don't hammer on it they aren't bad. Had one in a '95 (not an Aero) but it always worked fine. I think it needed governor seals when I sold it, but was still working fine at 172K.
One thing to ask the seller about is if they have changed the trans cooler, which is connected to the radiator. I did the rad and cooler at the same time--around the mileage of the car you're looking at. When the cooler leaks you wind up with ATF in the expansion tank, so you need to flush the coolant and do a 3x flush of the ATF.
