There is very little play in the pulleys. With either pump/pulley installed, the pulley is right up against the bracket. The space between the pulley and bracket is the width of a piece of paper or less. It actually rubs when the belt is installed.
I read in the archives that the brackets can break. Maybe it is starting to fatigue / bend and will break eventually? I dont see any bracket on ebay, guess this might take a while to fix. :(
