not wanting to go against the flow here... but....
I race a c900 with the 9000 calipers and use 1) the cross drilled zimmermans, and 2) PBR deluxe pads. they work very very well. I also had that setup on my street 1992 9000 CDT auto and it worked well too. the issues I have seen with the "upgraded" pads is wear on the rotors. should I pursue turning the 94 non TCS Aero I just got into a racer... looking for better brakes as it's a little heaver than the c900 (I think).
as to the transmissions.... My understanding is that the Aero has a different internal ratio. the PN escapes me right now but all of the Aero 5 speeds at my house now have the same 5 speed and all of the 9000s at I've found at the junk yard (94 and later) have a different PN. And when I talked to Rafi and the Gold what's it guys.... they both tell me that the ring or pinion or whatever gear is different on the Aero giving a different ratio.
