but I'm not using an adapter yet. The Kenwood stereo I'm using is not a head unit with line level outputs, but a CD/Receiver with speaker level outputs. I am going to wire directly from the receiver to the wires going to the rear speakers with heavier speaker wire (merely bypassing the amp) and see if that works. Otherwise I'll have to wire all the way to the speakers themselves. It just doesn't make sense that a unit designed to drive speakers is unable to do so in this configuration. I'll let you know what the final solution is.
