Dear Truly Wonderful 9000 Folks,
Just to fill in the blanks:
I've driven only Saabs for the last ~12 years after a sad interval filled with Toyotas (whilst missing Saabs terribly the WHOLE time).
This is my 3rd Aero too.
Many FP's, DIC's and other fun things have passed through my hands in that time. (Even had a spring shatter & slice up a new tire like butter !)
My car approaches 200k. In around 3 years I've replaced the FP in it a couple of times already - and once it was a false alarm as it was an electrical problem found AFTER the FP was replaced.
I am not trying to hurry this process along as there's a car I can use here while mine is 'iffy'.
My most serious question was asked twice, and nobody could answer it. Fortunately I was able to speak with my indy this AM and he confirmed that connection idea is exactly what the FP does anyhow when running and hence it is indeed completely safe.
I have a good spare FP on hand. I need to make a tool with stuff also on hand. Now I know how to proceed.
My appreciation to all the fine folks here !!!
