Been back and forth on that one myself on My 97.
When my OEM 15" rims/ tires wore down, I fitted a spare set of Early 9000 rims/tires simply because I had them and the tires were barely worn MXV's.
Frankly I liked the look of the older wheels, albeit it did take a few weeks to get used to the slightly narrower rims' appearance on the car. Amazingly the handling Ride was noticeably improved; smoother ride, more agile steering response.
I liked it.
Finally had my Aero rims refinished (all silver) and fitted with fresh tires.
These resulted in a Far more aggressive look in general.
Car sticks to the road far better, but then the difference is mostly noticeable at speeds and levels of aggression that I don't do that much of anymore.
But.. the car squeeks, groans, rattles.
Much more so than with the 195/60/15's.
I'm still entertaining thoughts of refitting the old style wheels.
Tough choice indeed.
