How unfair to have two DI's with the same problem leading us all to false ideas about what was wrong. Glad you figured it out. Daughter owes Dad a big hug at least.
If tightening the valve cover bolts to the correct torque (11 foot lbs or 133 inch pounds) doesn't stop the leak, then replacing the valve cover gasket will stop the leak.
