I just bought the car this summer, so unfortunately I have no knowledge of the age of the alternator or fuel pump, nor do I know if the ignition switch has ever been replaced. It has 173K on it. The DIC is a blue test unit, and the seller told me that it was relatively new. Voltage showed 13.6-13.7 on the info display when the car was still running, but I didn't check it when it wouldn't start. I'll put a voltmeter on it tomorrow to verify.
Too much going on tonight so I didn't get a chance to look at the car once the tow driver dropped it off. Tomorrow I'll check for any burnt smell around the DIC connector, and start going through the crank/no-start checklist. I'll also pull the serpentine belt and spin the alternator by hand to see if the rattling/knocking noise was indeed coming from the alternator.
I know the no-start could be unrelated to the other symptoms, but it seems like a mighty big coincidence that the car had a bunch of electrical symptoms simultaneously and out of the blue (but still ran fine) and now refuses to start. On the other hand, I don't see how a bad alternator would prevent the car from starting.
