I expect the sensor will be about as hot as its immediate environment. My ECU is happy with the new Siemens sensor.
The original Bosch sensor was failing at both ends. The cable's plastic jacket was failing at the connector. At the electrical harness the jacket was failing (exposing the wires) and the plastic was broken.
I owe you thanks for comments about the 2 clips that secure the CPS cable to the heater pipe located under the intake manifold. The clips were a pain to reach even knowing where to look for them. I used zip ties to secure the new sensor's cable.
I have nothing to add to the cumulative CPS knowledge at this board except that per the Haynes manual the T-30 screw that holds the connector at the engine block should be tightened to 6 ft. lbs. (72 inch lbs.).
