Greetings,
I am getting ready to convert my 89 9000T automatic to a 5spd from a 91 9000T donor car. First off, I have both cars sitting side by side ready to go in my garage. I am planning to do this from underneath and out the D/S, vs pull the engine + tranny from the top.
I am wondering what the best place is to actually start the process.
(I have removed the center console from the donor to see what
everything looks like in that area, but have not gone any farther
yet.) I was thinking the 5spd gear box should be removed from the donor car first. Then the donor flywheel, get it resurfaced. Next address the pedal assemblies and finally the shifter assembly.
I just don't want to get too far ahead of myself in any one place, so
that I can't go back to the donor car if I need to reference anything.
Another concern would be the routing and placement of the hydraulics for the clutch and clutch master cyl.
Also, I have the dash top off the donor car to see the top bolt of the pedal assembly, but I still can't seem to locate it.
Any advice on a good approach for all of this would be a huge help!
Thanks,
Scott
