Finally - I think I have the alternator issue sorted. The original alternator seems to have bad diodes (130k miles). The replacement from eEuro worked for an hour, then quit. I brought it to Autozone and had them test it. It failed all three tests, with both the diodes and voltage regulator being bad. It was a remanufactured Bosch. eEuro replaced that with another remanufactured Bosch and after 200 miles, seems to be fine. The only good thing about this project is that I became very proficient at removing alternators from 9000's. I can do it in about 15-20 minutes. Here's my procedure: remove the wheel and front fender liner. Remove the top engine mount assembly, MAP sensor, and fitting on the manifold that connects the vacuum to the sensor. Remove power steering fluid reservoir and move hoses to the other side of the alternator. The alternator easily comes out from the top without removing the firewall panel. The alternator had to be translated so that the pulley was facing up and it easily comes through the the top engine mount area.
