Probably should have crawled and looked under the door sooner, you really can't see that door seal at all from up top.
Glad you have your transmission cooler situation sorted out, I think you'll be OK using just the trans cooler in the radiator. The original transmission in my '97 made it to 330,000 miles that way and its sudden failure appeared to be a broken band, which was probably metal fatigue rather than a temperature-related failure. Prior to that it never did slip and the fluid always looked good.
If you were going to be towing or doing a lot of really hard driving though the additional cooler would probably not be a bad idea.
