Don't have answer to your question but when mine went bad it was the plastic guide that broke.
The thin plastic part that slides on the vertical channel. I had a little scrap piece of metal I think 1/2" X 1" that fit just perfect to use as the guide on one side although it is now metal on metal. I think I used a 10 mm bolt and nut to sandwich the metal piece against the channel. The added piece is next to the vertical channel with only the end 1/8 or 1/4" overlapping the channel. I dilled a hole in the metal piece for the bolt and nut when it was in the right place against the channel.
