I've posted before about this. It started on Aug.1
1. Used key fob to open trunk which tripped the alarm module which disabled the car completely. Would not reset with usual options (key fob, key in driver's door or passenger door)
so I got towed to my mechanic who replaced the alarm module and all was fine.
2. Reprogrammed key fob to work with new module.
3. Was wary of using automatic trunk open function on fob but did so anyway and tripped the alarm module again. Same thing. Wouldn't reset so I got another one.
4. All good for two months and then alternator tested bad so I had drained battery and replaced alternator.
5. Now have a parasitic drain from somewhere in the car which has stymied my mechanic and me.
6. Found bad amplifier blowing radio fuse so replaced the amp as well.
but still have drained battery every two days (I've taken to disconnecting the neg. terminal at night to avoid drain.
7. I've had little experience tracing down bad ground wires and corrosion but does it seem like all signs point to something in that trunk release? I think "Jersey Saab" suggested I look for a bad ground in antenna which I did and it's ok. Is there anything about the trunk release that I can troubleshoot?
Thanks for any help with this really vexing problem.
