Worked on the car some more yesterday. I cleaned up the ground on the ECU case. There was white aluminum corrosion on that. I left the dash top off for the drive to work and my EDU is still dropping out. I can wiggle the connector when it's out and it doesn't have any effect. Pounding on the top of the dash does make it come back momentarily on occasion. My instantaneous gas MPG is messed up. Sometimes it reads normal but most of the time it reads really low. The car still surges going down the road, but not as bad as before. Tach swings a few hundred RPM and the upper rad hose is still not getting hot. I know the Tstat is good. The radiator cooling fan is not coming on so I don't believe that's the cause. After a 15 mile drive I can put my hand on the cam cover on the intake side and it's not hot. I can put my hand on the Tstat neck and it's not hot, either. I will connect the Tech II next and see what it says. The EDU instantaneous MPG stays at around 10-12 MPG driving steady at 60 MPH. Sometimes it will go back to normal and read 25-30 MPG. The car will at least idle now, although not well. I tightened and cleaned the grounds and my radio and dash display are still acting up like they were before. I gotta think that's a power issue. Need to track that down. I also soldered a section of wire into the bad section of yellow wire going to the DI plug. It was broken.
