The "Aero" exhaust is the same as the CSE exhaust except you pay a lot for the bigger tip that is welded to the OUTSIDE of the muffler exit. The packing you're describing would need to be the guts of the center muffler. It might be a cheap knockoff instead of the Walker/Bosal unit that I generally look for. If you're having trouble with the center muffler and the rest of the system is pretty new, I would take it to Joe's Muffler Shop and have them bend a piece of pipe and cut the center muffler out and replace it with a straight pipe. They say it's not really much louder. I haven't done it yet. There are also center mufflers that look like a standard chambered muffler instead of the flat-ish packed unit. The center muffler on one of my 9000's rusted out on the inside and it was spitting perforated rusty sheet metal for a little while and then it started looking like it had a tapeworm. Three feet of fiberglass cloth strip hanging out of the exhaust tip. Pretty funny looking. If you're getting a bang or pop from the exhaust, there something else going on. If you're having a backfire from the exhaust, you have a bigger problem that the muffler.
