the dealer has a point about window tinting. Where you are is closer to the sun and has less air and water vapor to absorb sunlight. In other words, the sun is stronger at higher altitudes. A stronger sun tends to make the coloUr fade faster, outside and inside. There really not much you can do to the outside other than putting the car inside a garage. The window film cuts down fading inside the car as well as make the car a bit cooler.
I'm sure there are plenty of tinting shops around Santa Fe. On the other hand, $200 for the whole car isn't too bad. Ask the dealer to show you a car that they have done, then you decide whether the job is done right.
Look carefully and see if there are tiny bubbles trapped inside the film and look at the fit and finish around the window edges. Roll down a window or two and look at the top of the glass and see the fit of the film at the top edge.
Since the car has just been "preped" by the dealer, I would wait a bit before waxing it. Do wash dust and other things off the car surface often. If possible, avoid using automated car washes but you can use those coin operated self service car wash booths if you can find one in town. Just don't direct the water jet too close to the car.
As for the wheels, just wash the wheels and tires to prevent brake dust settling on them. What kind of wheels you have on your car, do they have a lot of surface area or mostly spokes ? Yes, waxing the wheels can prevent baked on brake dust.
I'm sure others will chime in about what their preferences are.
