I concur: I bought my '93 CSE 2.3T automatic in February with 75k miles and it now has about 90k. You will always be somewhat in the hands of previous owners when it comes to the transmission so a good service record is vital, but I know from personal experience that they can go on to 155k. A surprising number of things can be adjusted without removal, but I'd suggest you start by checking out the transmission "as is", anything from fluid condition to jerky changes or changing up too soon, then make the seller try and fix the problems so you know whether it worked!
Other things I've had to replace have been serpentine belt & pulley, all the water hoses (after two burst), rotors, thermostat, suspension bushes and corroded wiring to the cooling fan.! I think the head gasket should last well past 120K and probably a lot longer, at which time you may need fuel pump, water pump or whatever. But you know all this if you've had Saabs before.
Anyway, I drove my daughter 70 miles to school and back last night through 75mph winds, with floods, trees down and torrential rain and I'm very glad I was in a 9000.
