Vacuum leak or bad AIC valve are two likely culprits. Vacuum leak is straight forward to check and correct. Many, including myself, have replaced all the vacuum lines with silicon, which is much more durable. Don't have a diagnostic for the AIC, maybe someone else does. I had the AIC replaced under warranty on my '95.
