After having a new hose configured for the line from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder, I was ready to attempt to pressure bleed the sytem as per Quasi's site. I was unable to find a suitable cap in which to place a tire valve stem, so I went the cut-up bicycle inner tube route. The person who posted must be incredibly strong or his reservoir was a different size. There was no way I could stretch an inner tube from a 10-speed bike around the opening. So I used a more conventional size and placed a hose clamp on it. Started pumping, tube inflates, no air leak, crack the bleed nipple down at the slave, everything looks OK. However, no fluid was moving. After a paniced call to my favorite indy, I was informed that the piston in the clutch master cylinder had stayed in the up position, blocking the flow of any fluid. He said that at the shop they blast it with 150 lb. psi air, via a rubber tip and that pops it back down. I was unable to get it down with my Herculean blasts from my bicycle pump. I gave up, had the car towed, and let the shop pressure bleed it for me. Has this ever happened to anyone else? How do you get the piston back down without having a 150 lb. psi air hose? I know it's too late for me now, but maybe for future reference it would be good to see it posted since I was unaware of this potential pitfall before I attempted this repair myself. Thanks to all who responed to my previous pleas for assistance.
