Not unexpected reactions I suppose, but lets be objective here.
Having carefully read all the invoices, they seemed to deal with Ign, brakes, fuel system , electrical system, window motors?, not to mention 2 sets of front rotors , two engine mount replacements, crank seals, as well as the expected mufflers.
Don't forget that this car was under total warrantee for three of it's ten year life, so this repair total (actually closer to $11k for the sake of accuracy) was/is for seven years use. Couple this to the current resale value of $8/9 k this means that the poor sod owner has expended close to $60,000 for ten years and 70k driving!
Don't know about you guys but this is serious coin Mate.
As for other makes, I own(ed?) a Legend for 10 years (untill my errant son recently crashed it, t- boning at 100kph and writing off a F150 pickup in the process), maintenance repairs were confined to light bulbs after the 5 year warrantee expired.
My wife owns a C900 (from new), it's been almost completly trouble free.
I had thought that a 9k could be an interesting alternate to the admittedly boring Japanese offerings, but I had NO idea that maintenace could be such an issue with these models.
Are there any original owners out there who will give account of their experiences ? Really would like to buy one, just don't need a money pit.
