An electrical problem with the ABS system. It sounds like a wheel sensor. What I've seen is the wheel sensor for one of the rear wheels fail due to the traling arm moving up and down. The wheel sensor cable is attached to the trailing arms with metal clips. The clips can rub through and cause a short circuit in the cable and cause the Anti Lock lamp to illuminate. The fault is picked up by the ABS control unit as a fault. When you cycle the key, if the fault is not present, the light will go out as you describe. However, when the fault re occurs, the cycle begins all over again. The only way to correct the problem is to replace the sensor. If you would like to check this yourself, do this: Locate the connector for the rear sensors under the rear seat beneath the rectangular foam blocks on either side. Use an ohm meter to measure the sensor resistsnce. It should be around 1100 ohs. When you perform this, wiggle the cable along its legnth to see if the meter reading changes to OL (out of limits or open circuit) or 0.00(short circuit). If so replace the sensor. The front sensor plugs are under the cowl cover. Test them the same way. You may want to have someone flex the suspension when performing the checks. Good Luck!
