...a healthy cooling system. It is the only stop-leak formula that will flow through a 24-mesh screen, and is installed in all GM, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, Jaguar, and many other OEM engines from the factory, as has been for many years.

I have tried only the regular stop-leak formula in the silver plastic bottle. It was used in my '91 9KT for 124k miles 'til I sold it, and I experienced no cooling-system problems of any kind--including water pump, heater core, and thermostat. My '95 Aero has had it installed since I purchased it and it too has been trouble-free. All my water-cooled vehicles get BL regardless of whether they manifest leaks or not. FWIW, I have never had a radiator, heater core, or thermostat replaced on any of the five Saabs I've owned.

The regular formula can be unceremoniously dumped into the reservoir, and the car should be immediately driven for 20-30 minutes. The entire bottle may take some time to circulate completely, but it will in time and won't cause trouble lingering in the reservoir in the meantime.

People who denegrate Bar's Leaks are either unknowledgeable of this specific product, or have installed it in a poorly maintained cooling system that later developed a problem unrelated to the BL. I hear stories like "a friend with a BMW installed BL and his system clogged in two weeks. Or, maybe it was Acme Stop Leak." Well, maybe it was oatmeal or eggs, both old remedies believe it or not. Was the system healthy to begin with?
