I am starting to find actually easier access to the fuel injection parts the last few years, believe it or not. While they are sometimes expensive (but sometimes not so - Rock Auto recently had the original Bosch fuel injectors for $10 each). Several websites (one DeLorean, one Ferrari) now offer parts and rebuild kits and materials for the K-Jetronic fuel injection system. Basically, everything throughout the fuel system is available or can be made (specific lines might be in that last categorie, but the DeLorean guy is making those, so I bet you could send him a Saab one and he could make a new one with the original fittings). So, I am also in the "keep it original" camp - that fuel system is a really cool bit of mechanical engineering and with a bit of maintenance works very well.
Good Luck!
Gary
