Scotty, yes it can be done primarily you need a front trans cover from a 99 chain drive four speed, and then weld on, an alum ear, half an 1.5 circle of alum, to cover the drilling bore extension for the cluster gear shaft that comes forward fron the front case half of a 5- speed. Use a later front cover gasket as a template. If you are still running the 73-74 type axels, use the 73-74 diff case to bolt the later 5-speed ring gear to, but this requires then of set up work in the trans. If you have converted to 75 or later azels then you do not need to change the driver cups if your 5-speed is 85 or befor. 86 or later and 1985 turbo type cups take the larger tri pod inners CV.s. You do not need to change the diff case, just the cups. Shifters and linkage will take some doing, as it would be best to use 84 - 89 consuls, and use the later 91 -93 coupler with the pinch bolt coupler. This will give you lots of adjustment. This area will be tight to service the shifter adjm in the future, I have seen where the adjuster was brought into the car and can be accesed between the floor ducks. Still the main rod will probable have to be shortened. Keep in mind the final drive ratio's were tall 82-89 so keep the chain gears nearly even 31/30 or so or you may end up with a tall 5th gear that won't pull well on hills.
