It's one of those things, like everything else 99 related that I own. Since I never throw anything away, I could have bought it within the last few years(doubtful), or had it since the days of my indie shop, which was closed in 1992. It was in a bag with the bearing, clip, and oil seal, so I could only guess it was a complete kit when purchased....or it could very well have been a kit that I put together many years ago.
I called Chip Lamb a bit ago and he had no clue about the orange seal. He was more hyped on convincing me to go the EWP route, which I'm not to keen on unless I can make it look pretty. He also told me to be wary of the ebay pump shaft I bought, and told me not to be surprised if it chews up the idler shaft. My pig headed self is gonna stuff that pump in anyways. It would give me a good excuse to rip the motor out and clean the engine bay up a bit.:)...and stick an 8 cog shaft in....or...hmm, I still have the 63k block from the '75 in the barn.
