venting tank. new question Posted by dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from dan) on Fri, 17 Mar 2006 20:17:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello folks:
I don't know if I have a problem with my '76 99 EMS or not, but when I went in to check the part number on my fuel pump (so I had to remove the thing) I noticed that I had an AMAZING seal on that tank. I remembered that every time I remove the cap, there is evidence of lots of vacuum in there. I cant remember ever having a 99 that had this tight a seal. Is it supposed to be this tight? could I be running lean (which I am) because the fuel pump is fighting this vacuum? I know some system vent a bit through the cap but there doesn't seem to be any sort of valve mechanism in the stock cap. Just curious really.
Thanks in advance.
dan
