I'll have to look. I may have a pair of them kicking around I picked up last year, only to realise the difference in pre-74's and never used them. I can't remember if I returned them or not. Any Saab dealor should be able to check part numbers that don't automatically superseed in their system for you, it can be awefully time consuming, and end up not available. It is quite simply the fastest way to piss off your very busy parts department. These folks are overworked and underpaid. You need to build up a repore with them, showing your efforts with numbers.I live in an area that has several dealors, so I use all of them at times so as not to upset them with this stuff. It's not easy, but I've found lots of stuff considered long gone still kicking around somewhere within Saab. Your own parts book can be the best starting point. If, say you want a part for your '75...you may want to give the 1980 part # instead(if you know it is the same). That one may show good or have been superseeded. You can also use this in reverse...If say you wanted an ignition switch...we all know they are the same...give an earlier number...if it is still on a shelf somewhere, it will be cheaper! I will do my homework and give several numbers if possible in my inquiries. Saab Europe and Saab USA are not networked, so checking Euro stock is another step for them. There is also a Saab network that lists older de-valued stock within the dealorships, that can bring a find.
