I have heard that the new fuel pumps made by bosch that say they will work with saab 99's dont fit right and are too small in length and diameter, I had bought an off-brand fuel pump for my saab 99 and it was way too small and doesent fit correctly with the original fuel pump mounting bracket, unless there is a converter bracket that I am not aware of, I'd stick with buying a rebuilt one, thats what I ended up doing. I got mine at East of Sweden a few months ago( you can google them) it cost a little more then 100$, they told me they don't have many left, I also have a 79 99 and if it's an early 79 like mine and has a metal fuel tank, I've been told to swap it out for a plastic one, possibly one from an early c900 and there is some kind of wiring swap you will have to do that will go with it,
good luck
