First thing you need is a proper 4 speed gearbox. For as far as I know stroker gearboxes had different ratios that those used with the v4. Could be that only the final drive was different. With a bit of luck you can use the bell housing from the 3 speed box and bolt the 4 speed up to in. You should be fine with the existing lever. In the early sixties there was a big gearbox swapping programme here in Holland for the 96es that had 3 speed boxes. Because of the flat country people were constantly reving the engines too hard in order to make some speed. It was then decided that all boxes were swapped at the importer's workshop. I know a guy who was involved in the swapping. Ater some practicing they could do a total operation (from opening the hood up till closing it again) within 20 minutes. Something to be jealous of...
