Well, like Ben I want to learn a little more about these V-4s. So while me 95 is in the shop getting new valves, etc., I scrounged a used 1700 to play with. It'll be a while before I get to it and start doing anything, but my goal is to have a nice replacement engine for the 95, or even for a Sonett should I eventually get one.
I don't know what condition this one is in, but my understanding from reading lots of emails/messages, is that the bottom end it usually pretty solid on these things, right? So my initial plan is somewhat like Ben's in that I will gear my efforts to removing the heads and doing the valves.
Any other top-end stuff will come slowly but surely. I suppose an engine stand will be helpful :-)
