well here is the short version of this story. I bought a '73 96 2 years ago as a project from a woman who loved the car but couldn't take care of it as well as she hoped or as well i wish she had. Now after welding in huge chunks of new metal and wating for it to get warm to finsh the body work, i started working on some engine stuff. Knew it needed some simple things, carb rebuild (weber), belt, hoses, valvecover gaskets and what not, but today i started this work and found something very fun, MILKINESS under the valvecovers! Oil seems fine, and there is a dark film to the coolant expansion tank but the fluid it self looks fine. Now i bought this car as a project and am not complaining, I do enjoy working on it, but does anyone think i can get away with retorqueing the head bolts, or pull and replace the head gasket? I cant tell if the HG is leaking as the engine is coverd with oil from the very loose and worn out VCG's. It ran just fine before i started the resto work, any thoughts would be helpful. Wish i wasn't addicted to these cars :) thanks
Mike
