While I don't have the MSS (or other brand) system, I do have the classic "Y" system as pictured -- 51" from exhaust to single pipe. Exhaust donuts enlarged a bit and larger diameter pipe to accomodate. Have similar on both my '70 96 & on '73 Sonett. Yes -- 'tis considerably louder than stock! No, I don't have the 2nd smaller muffler near tip. However, I *do* have a set of earplugs for longer rides. Seems my "sweet spot" of about 3700-3800rpm is also the perfect point for maximum resonance/sound from this set up...
