I've owned 3 of them over the years and each one works perfectly. They help performance measurably and last way longer up here in the great white (salty) north then the crappy thin stuff the stock units are made from. What I've done on my last install ('73 mod 95) was buy the "Y" pipes from Jack and Pat and then build the rest of it the way I want it for the application. Currently it has a flat rectangular muffler from Summit Racing that sounds great and doesn't hang too low. Sounds nice and rumbly, less harsh or tinny.
You will need to install non-stock mounts thru the floors to hang it but that's no big deal if done correctly. Most of us screw up the first time and don't seal the holes properly and have to deal with a rattle or a leak until it's redone correctly.
Ray is right that the "Y" pipe design does have a harmonic resonance right in the middle of the power band of the V4. That's on purpose but can be a real drag if you want a quite and sedate vSaab driving experience. Adding a different muffler has made a significant difference in that department on my wagon. Incorporating some rubber or other material in the mounts will help with the interior noise as well.
Another great reason to own an authentic MSS exhaust is they are each made by hand to exacting specifications my tiny elves living and working in the rust belt of upstate New York. No better economic stimulus then that.
