Hey Kary,
Long time- no talk!
The radiator in the '68 is the old pre-civil war one with the oversize tank on the top and no overflow tank. I think there's 7 fins total...BUT it seems to keep the car cool- so far. I'd really like to replace it and put in an electric fan. The 900 setup seems to be preferred. I also see that Summit offers universal radiators that might fit. Either way, I'd need to make new mounting points.
Yesterday, when I had the alternator out, I gave the lower pulley a good yank and found the beginnings of play in the balance shaft. That means the front bearing is getting worn. Which means pulling the engine some day in the future. Then I might put in a new radiator.
On another note, I'm thinking of putting in some extra VDO gauges- oil pressure, voltmeter, and vacuum.
We have 6 to 12" of snow in the forecast. 12 to 18" in the mountains. Heavy, wet snow. Yuck.
