A 96 gearbox? Or a Sonett gearbox? Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Wed, 9 May 2012 10:53:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have acquired a Sonett transmission and would like advice on whether to rebuild the Sonett gearbox for use in my 96, or rebuild the 96 gearbox instead. I understand that the ring & pinion gear ratio is different between the two which would mean slightly lower rpm's at highway speeds for the Sonett box, so I am inclined to use the Sonett tranny, but are there other differences/concerns that I might want to know of in order to make an informed decision?
Has anyone used a Sonett gearbox for a 96? If so, are there any observations you would be willing to share?
Much thanks in advance!
