Thanks for the detailed explanation. The prior owner of my Sonett rebuilt the engine with the hardened seats in the heads, so that is not an issue for the unleaded gas. With the engine rebuild (plus the addition of a new carb), I don't expect the ethanol interaction with rubber components will be an issue.
I expected the extra octane would be of no benefit, but just wondered if the lack of ethanol would be beneficial. With your information I will stick with the gas I have been using.
